The independent buying agency Radio Works has kicked off an

ambitious expansion programme with the recruitment of ex-Wireless Group

sales manager Trevor Shepherd.

Shepherd will operate from a new office in Carlisle and will help keep

Radio Works on track for further expansion into Scotland later this

year.

’We’re doing a hell of a lot of work in Scotland,’ said managing

director Michael Charnley-Heaton. ’If that side of the business

continues to grow, we’ll soon be in Edinburgh and Glasgow.’

Bath-based Radio Works, has billings of pounds 5 million a year. It

specialises in buying radio on behalf of small clients and agencies that

only use the medium sporadically.

However, the advertising boom has led the 12-strong company to embark on

a four-year programme of opening regional offices.

Charnley-Heaton said hiring Shepherd was ’the first stage of taking on

senior people. We’re constantly putting the word out.’
