Ramsay steps down from ISBA role after taking Brussels job

Ian Ramsay, the chairman and managing director of CPC Foods, is to

step down as the president of the Incorporated Society of British

Advertisers.

Ramsay is less than half way through his intended two-year term.

Ramsay’s decision was prompted by his promotion within CPC Europe to the

position of senior vice-president, finance and human resources. His new

job is in Brussels, and Ramsay felt he could not give his all to

ISBA.

Earlier this month Ramsay gave a keynote speech to the ISBA policy

conference calling for advertiser solidarity and warning against the

’nannying’ of consumers.

ISBA’s director-general, John Hooper, will have to find a successor to

Ramsay, who succeeded Simon Bullimore of Mars last July. An appointment

may be made at the ISBA AGM in July.

’Ian’s done an outstanding job for us, particularly in setting our new

agenda. We obviously need to find someone to lead from the front

post-election,’ Hooper said.
