Real Media acquires German internet sales house

- Real Media, the US-owned internet ad sales company, has acquired Cubicmedia, an independent online advertising sales house in Germany.

Real Media Europe has acquired a 76% majority stake in Cubicmedia, which will be rebranded Real Media Germany.

The remaining stock stays with Cubicmedia's founders, Sascha Wolff and Daniel Dimpker, who will continue to run the company as joint managing directors.

Cubicmedia has offices in Hamburg, Munich and Kaiserslautern and a staff of 15. It currently represents a portfolio of German sites, including: Excite, Investornet, BusiWeb, GameChannel, Falk-Online and City 24.

In Germany, Real Media has to date concentrated on building site relationships through technology sales. Its Open AdStream ad management software is currently used by over 50 German sites, including all of Axel Springer Verlag and Spiegel Verlag.
