DoubleClick has landed the global sales contract for Real.com, the
12th most visited website in Europe.
DoubleClick’s global sales force will offer banner advertising,
sponsorship and e-commerce solutions across the Real.com network.
The brief covers Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Far East and South America.
The Real.com network of sites covers 16 counties outside the US.
The sites are operated by RealNetworks and enable owners of personal
computers to send and receive audio, video and other multimedia services
through the web.
US-based RealNetworks, which previously handled sales inhouse, was
already using DoubleClick’s ad serving system Dart.
Eric Stein, DoubleClick UK’s managing director, commented: ’RealNetworks
is a huge partner - this is a very important deal for us.’
