Van Bockel has lead the UK marketing for Red Bull since May 2011, after holding the equivalent post in his native Holland for four years.
Prior to Red Bull, Van Bockel founded fashion brand Dr Finkelbaum. He began his career at Unilever.
At Red Bull, he oversaw major stunt events such as the Red Bull Air Race at Ascot, the amateur racing event Red Bull Soapbox Race and the Red Bull Culture Clash music event.
Van Bockel told Marketing that he left Red Bull in the past month and now plans to work with start-ups through his one-man consultancy, The Social Brand, named after his book.
It is not clear whether Red Bull has found van Bockel’s replacement. The brand did not respond to a request for comment.
