Irish whiskey brand Redbreast has introduced a smooth-talking wooden bird from Cork as the mascot of its latest campaign.
The main digital ad shows Redbreast as he saunters through the brand’s distillery in Midleton, County Cork, smelling the whiskey’s notes of "peach cobbler and stewed plums on the nose" before inviting viewers to try it for themselves.
A series of shorter spots see Redbreast talk through the brand’s origin, what best pairs with the whiskey and the community aspect of drinking with friends (which the bird describes as a "pyramid scheme without any of the bad stuff, of course").
This comes alongside a partnership with BirdLife International – a bird conservation charity which aims to monitor bird populations.
The work was written by Jarrod Banadyga, Enda Mac Nally and Barry Taylor, and directed by Neil Stubbings through Jelly.
