- Reed Business Information, a division of Anglo Dutch publishing company Reed Elsevier, has acquired the controlled circulation computer titles of Dennis Publishing for an undisclosed sum.

The group comprises a six strong line up of magazines, including Microscope, The VAR, and Business & Technology.

Dennis, which also publishes men's magazine Maxim both in the UK and the US as well as news-stand computer titles including Computer Buyer and Computer Shopper, says it intends to focus on the mainstream computer press and consumer titles.

The move will mean a move from Dennis' central London offices to Reed's head quarters in Sutton Surrey.

Alistair Ramsay the Dennis Publishing managing director, said: "We have taken a strategic view to sell titles in order to focus on newstrade titles be they computer or consumer. We are very pleased that Reed Business Information is the purchaser as they are the UK's leading control circulation publisher and all the titles will benefit from that clarity."
