Regan joins New PHD in management rejig

New PHD has shaken up its management structure by appointing Tony Regan, a founder of Michaelides & Bednash, as the agency's first brand strategy director. The agency has also named founding partners Jonathan Durden and Nick Horswell as the joint chairmen.

New PHD has shaken up its management structure by appointing Tony Regan, a founder of Michaelides & Bednash, as the agency's first brand strategy director. The agency has also named founding partners Jonathan Durden and Nick Horswell as the joint chairmen.

Regan's appointment plugs the gap left when Jon Wilkins, the former joint managing director, departed in July to found the creative communications agency Naked.

Durden and Horswell take over the chairmanship after Ken New's departure at the end of last year (Campaign, 13 October). Tess Alps, the chairman of New PHD's specialist Drum PHD division, has become deputy chairman.

Regan, who is an M&B shareholder, is best known for his work on the 1994 Mercury Communications campaign featuring Harry Enfield.

He will sit alongside Morag Blazey, New PHD's managing director, and will oversee planning and the creative communications team.

Durden said: 'I've been talking to Tony since 1996 and I'm delighted we've finally convinced him to make the jump.'

Regan added: 'The culture of New PHD is very positive and interesting. It has got a great heritage in adding value to media thinking.'

New PHD is likely to become just PHD in the next few months to fit in better with the PHD network, which chief executive David Pattison has been charged with expanding.
