The Renault-Nissan Alliance has appointed OMD India as the media agency for both Renault and Nissan brands in India.
Nissan has recently launched the Micra in India and Renault will be launching their cars in the Indian market starting mid-2011.
The win comes off the back of a long and multi-stage pitch where the combined media business of both the companies was up for grabs.
Companies that participated in the pitch include ZenithOptimedia, Starcom and Dentsu. With this appointment, OMD India will handle all media duties for all existing and new brands of Renault and Nissan.
The appointment comes into effect immediately.
Renault-Nissan awarded its consolidated €800 million pan-European media account to Omnicom's OMD in November 2008 after a final shoot out against Aegis Group's Carat.
