WPP shares were hit this week as rumours spread of poor first

quarter trading. It followed speculation that a number of the group's

big US clients have pulled the plug on expensive campaigns amid fears of

recession. WPP, which makes half of its profits in the US, is budgeting

for zero growth in global ad revenue this year. - The Guardian.
