Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft, has expressed
despondency about the timing of broadband access, which is taking a lot
longer than expected. Ballmer fears that the slow introduction of the
high-speed access could hit the demand for Microsoft's games console,
Xbox, which is due for launch in November. He also said that he expected
it to take more than five years for the access to reach 50 per cent
penetration levels in developed countries. - Financial Times.
