REVIEW: Ministers consider contingency plans

Ministers are considering contingency plans to rescue the Government's key media policy amid fears that the House of Lords will fail to ratify the Communications Bill. The House of Lords still has to debate more than 395 of the 404 clauses in the Bill, with less than a month of Parliamentary time remaining. In the event that the Bill fails to be ratified in time, the £2.5 billion merger of Carlton and Granada would have to be abandoned. - The Times.
