Vivendi is poised to sell its 50 per cent share of Vizzavi, the internet portal, to Vodafone. The cash-strapped French media group will use the sale to help offset the 386 million euro loss it made last year. Vodafone sees the purchase of the e-mail service as a way of generating extra revenue from the new generation of mobile phones with colour screens and high-speed internet connections. - General release.
