Revolution, the sister magazine of Campaign that covers marketing
in new media, has launched on the Internet with a site designed to
deliver services to marketers.
The site, www.revolution.haynet.com, includes a searchable database of
new-media suppliers, the Directory; a year-planner diary of forthcoming
events, the One Year Plan; and Recruit, a list of new-media and
marketing jobs.
However, the hub of the site is an online forum called the Wall, where
comment and articles can be posted, debated and discussed.
A fifth area is dedicated to Revolution’s awards, due to take place next
February. It includes details of the categories, criteria and how to
enter, as well as a facility to vote for the Yahoo! Award, which will be
judged by readers of Revolution and Campaign. All other categories will
be judged by a jury chaired by the WPP chief executive, Martin
Sorrell.
Created by Ogilvy & Mather, the Network and the new-media production
company, Hard Reality, the Revolution site uses visual elements on a
’revolutionary’ theme.
Keld van Schreven, the joint managing director of Hard Reality, said:
’The Revolution Website is a rarity, delivering serious and must-have
information in a creative way. We were delighted to use our best talent
partnerships to deliver a site we believe is a benchmark for 1998.’
