Rise nets Cutty Sark advertising account

The whisky brand Cutty Sark has appointed Rise Communications to work on its communications strategy across international markets.

Rise will evaluate the financial contribution of the brand's communications activity. The work will cover all forms of communication, from advertising to point of product consumption.

Rise will then develop local channel and creative strategy for Cutty Sark, which is owned by Berry Brothers & Rudd.

The agency will collaborate with local distributors, agencies and clients.

David King, the marketing director for Cutty Sark International, said: "The expertise and technology to measure effectiveness has often been lacking. By working with Rise I believe we can significantly improve brand performance and shareholder equity."

Simon Mathews, the founder of Rise, added: "Not only is this a sector that we are passionate about, but the brief to take a fresh look across the communication spectrum, develop a strategy that will help to improve financial returns and collaborate on local communication creativity is right up our street."

Rise has experience of the international whisky market following its work for The Macallan.
