Rise wins APA brief ahead of customer magazine push

LONDON - The Association of Publishing Agencies, the customer magazine industry body, has appointed Rise Communications to work on its communications strategy.

Rise's appointment comes ahead of a push from the APA to target marketers and agency planners with key messages about customer magazines. It will work with the APA on the best strategy and channels to achieve this.

The agency won the business after an undisclosed pitch, which was handled through the AAR.

Last year, the APA developed a programme of effectiveness research, in association with Millward Brown, to demonstrate the effectiveness of customer magazines as a marketing tool.

Julia Hutchison, director of the APA, said: "We were looking for a strategic communications agency. Last year, we put the building blocks in place with evidence that customer magazines are valuable, now we'll be looking with Rise at developing routes to market."
