RKCR/Y&R takes on DDB creative team

Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R has bolstered its creative department by poaching the brains behind DDB's "Singin' in the Rain" spot.

Steve Jones and Martin Loraine, formerly a senior creative team at the agency, will be joining RKCR/Y&R as creative partners and as members of the board.

The pair will be responsible for the agency's COI business. They will also look after the account for EON, the German energy company.

Ben Priest, the executive creative director at RKCR/Y&R, said: "We couldn't be happier to have a team of Steve and Martin's calibre joining us. We think we have the best client list in town and they'll have a lot of fun getting their teeth into it."

Jones and Loraine moved to BMP DDB in 2002. They were the first signings made by the agency's then joint creative directors Jeremy Craigen and Ewan Paterson.

Having joined Grey London in 1991, the duo worked on Allied Dunbar, for which they created the "there may be trouble ahead" spot. This won them a D&AD Pencil.

The pair also won a gold Lion in Cannes in 2001 for their work on Heinz microwaveable soups.
