Saatchi signs up Grey’s Goulborn

integrated communications solution with the appointment of its first

communications director.



The agency has hired Andrew Goulborn, the deputy managing director of

the Grey-owned media dependant, MediaCom. Goulborn will take up the new

position, and a place on the executive board, on 14 April.



Goulborn takes charge of a team of 40 across three divisions at the

agency: the media and integration departments and Saatchi and Saatchi

Vision, the agency’s new-media operation.



Mike Gorman, Saatchis’ media director, Paul Snudden, the head of

integration and Alan McCulloch, the head of Vision, will report to

Goulborn.



Goulborn’s remit will be to take an overview across the three

departments to ensure consistency and a common vision. ’It’s about

ensuring an integrated approach to the way that communications messages

are delivered,’ he explained.



’It’s a position virtually no other agency can offer. My career to date

has been focused on finding and executing the most efficient and

effective message delivery systems for advertisers. At Saatchis I will

be extending this through the line.’



Saatchis works through the line with a number of clients, including the

Army and Hewlett Packard.



At MediaCom, where he was second in command, Goulborn worked closely

with two of the agency’s largest clients, SmithKline Beecham and Mars,

working on their business both in the UK and in Europe.



Andy Troullides, MediaCom’s managing director, said he was disappointed

to lose Goulborn, but he is planning to hire a senior client handler to

run SmithKline Beecham. ’This does not present any hiccups,’ he said.
