Samsung "Blind cap" by Cheil

From a prototype mobile app that helps mothers connect with incubator-bound preemies to smart surfboards, Samsung has had plenty of marketable innovations to crow about these past few months.

The latest brand film out of Spain demonstrates a piece of tech so simple, it is surprising it hasn’t been done before. Swimming caps fitted with Bluetooth technology and vibrating sensors allow coaches to remotely alert blind Paralympic swimmers when they need to turn at the end of their lap, potentially ending the distinctly lo-fi practice of using poles to tap swimmers on the head. According to Cheil, which devised the technology alongside Samsung, the device is being tested by the Spanish Paralympic Committee.
