The filter (see video below) is part of Samsung’s 2017 Holiday campaign, "Giving is the gift to be shared", which celebrates the joys of gifting during the festive season.
The geofilters were developed by We Are Social in collaboration with 4x UK illustrators Laura Callaghan, Daisy Emerson, Alex Tait, and Crispin Finn (a partnership of Roger Kelly and Anna Fidalgo). The media agency for the campaign is Starcom.
Social listening data was used to determine the theme and timing of moments throughout Christmas Day that could inspire Snapchatters to snap and share.
Starting today, all brands will be able to sponsor animated filters which Snapchat introduced a month ago as an update to its static Filters.
The animated filters will let brands add animated assets to the photos and videos Snapchatters capture and share with friends.
The new format is available for national takeovers in major markets worldwide today.
Snapchat promises that advertisers will be able to target these animated filters soon.
