Brands that have already made global headlines at the conference include Samsung, which unveiled its new line of Galaxy S6 Smartphones, and Huawei, which unveiled its competitor to Apple’s expected smartwatch. Microsoft has also been noted for its innovative, immersive space featuring a digital hot air balloon, a flower garden and a DJ booth.
It is the fifth year that the event has taken place at Barcelona’s exhibition venue Grand Via. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Tom Wheeler, the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, are this year’s keynote speakers, and approximately 80,000 people at set to attend from around the world.
