The South Kensington venue saw the number of bookings for large-scale events such as annual conferences, awards ceremonies and product launches soar. Such events accounted for 36% of the Science Museum's total events and equated to an overall growth of more than 160% from 2011 to 2012.
The rise was a result of the transformation the Science Museum's IMAX cinema and the 700sqm Level 1 space for corporate hire last year.Alicia Earls, communications manager for events at the Science Museum, said: "The growth in business over the past year demonstrates the success of our investments - we now have more availability to meet the requirements of the corporate event market."
In September 2012, the IMAX cinema hosted EE's launch of its 4G mobile network, while in January 2013 Coca-Cola and WWF held their European campaign, Arctic Home, at the Museum.
