Scottish Office puts pounds 2.5m account up for agency tenders

Faulds Advertising and Barkers Scotland are facing a review of their shared pounds 2.5 million Scottish Office account.

Faulds Advertising and Barkers Scotland are facing a review of

their shared pounds 2.5 million Scottish Office account.

The business, which includes road safety, domestic violence and food

safety accounts, has been advertised in the Official Journal of the

European Community. Jim Faulds, the chairman of Faulds Advertising,

said: ’Procedures for statutory review are in motion and we take

nothing for granted.’

The Scottish Office reviews the account every three years.

Media, held by Faulds and CIA Medianetwork, is up for grabs, along with

the creative work. Faulds is the lead agency, handling about pounds 1.5

million-worth of advertising a year. But Barkers has been increasing

its share and recently created a campaign for the nursery vouchers

scheme.

Faulds is set to create food safety campaigns in the wake of the

Scottish outbreaks of fatal E.coli food poisoning.

The results of the review are not likely to be revealed until after the

general election in two months’ time.
