As Sex and the City star Davis signs as face of Maybelline

LONDON - Kristin Davis, who played prim and proper Charlotte in 'Sex and the City', is the latest star from the now-defunct series to be signed up for the commercial world.

Davis will appear as the new celebrity spokesperson for cosmetics brand, Maybelline New York, following in the footsteps of stars including Madonna and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Maybelline said that Davis would promote new products that are being lined up to appear next year.

Cheryl Vitali, senior vice-president of marketing at Maybelline New York-Garnier, said: "Kristin is the perfect personification of the Maybelline New York spirit -- fun, flirty, sophisticated and sassy."

Since 'Sex and the City' came to an end earlier this year, Davis has signed a development deal with HBO for a series in which she will star. She has also been cast as the voice of Miss Spider in the new animated series 'Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends'.

The deal with Maybelline follows Davis signing a deal to be the face of the Danish clothing label B-Young. The label, which owns 20 stores in Denmark and more then 210 stores worldwide, will feature the TV star in its autumn European campaign.
