Shelter seeks digital shop for social networking drive

Shelter, the housing charity, has shortlisted three agencies to vie for a digital campaign to raise awareness of young people's housing rights.

Hooper Galton, SP15 and Lean Mean Fighting Machine will pitch for the business, with the campaign set to go live in the autumn. The push will bid to raise the profile of the charity's Know Your Rights website,, which offers advice to 16- to 25-year-olds.

The campaign will run across social networking sites, primarily targeting students and young people, with the aim of getting them to recommend the website to their peers.

A Shelter spokeswoman said: "Young people are unlikely to know where to go for information on housing rights, or, indeed, whether they have any rights at all. So many could be prevented from becoming homeless if they had direct access to the right information."

The charity has worked with Hooper Galton on previous projects.
