Skoda UK has signed a multimillion-pound two-year deal to sponsor ITV's mystery drama package of programmes, including the second series of Broadchurch.

The sponsorship includes broadcast idents around TV shows on the main ITV channel, online and mobile activity, and licensing rights.

In addition to Broadchurch, which stars David Tennant and Olivia Colman, the package includes the new Robson Green-fronted series Grantchester Mysteries and the returning dramas Lewis, Foyle’s War, Vera and Endeavour.

MediaCom negotiated the sponsorship with ITV’s commercial team. The idents will be created by Fallon.

Heidi Cartledge, the head of marketing at Skoda UK, said: "The mystery drama package gives us a great platform to speak to a wide audience and we’re delighted to be involved with such fantastic programming."

The deal builds on Skoda’s existing relationship with ITV through its sponsorship of the Tour de France.

ITV’s mystery dramas were previously sponsored by Viking River Cruises.
