BSkyB’s Sky One is launching its first interactive on-air and
online entertainment show at the end of this month.
The programme, to be broadcast in the UK from 20 November, will appear
in a 13-part series on Sky One on Saturday evenings between 6pm and
9pm.
Skyrocket will comprise 25 minutes of cuts from The Simpsons, Futurama
and Family Guy and will run alongside a website, Skyrocket
Interactive.
The TV series will be hosted by Capital DJ Caroline Feraday and David
Thomas will present the online show. TV viewers will be able to access
the Skyrocket website and participants can contribute to the TV
programme.
Skyrocket’s interactive strand also includes The Smithsons, an animated
interactive clip show.
Graham Burrells, creative director of Sky One, said: ’It’s an exciting
new concept that brings together the best of Sky One’s programming with
the cutting edge in interactive technology. Skyrocket will change the
way you watch TV on a Saturday night.’
A spokesman for Skyrocket Interactive said: ’It offers advertisers
tightly targeted audiences, but we want to get the template right before
putting it forward as a viable advertising proposition.’
