Sky One to search for ultimate playboy in reality show

LONDON - Sky One is to launch a new reality TV offering from the makers of 'Back to Reality', where eight bachelors compete to win the title of 'The Ultimate Playboy'.

Hosted by model Jodie Kidd and mentored by former Formula 1 driver Eddie Irvine, eight affluent bachelors must undertake a series of challenges to test their playboy skills.

Tasks include playing polo, driving fast cars and impressing gorgeous and intelligent women.

At the end of each show, one contestant is eliminated by a panel of judges that include Irvine, Kidd and the resident villa girls.

In contention for the crown is an Oxford graduate and restaurateur, an Italian Armani model and an Essex-born self-made millionaire.

The 'Ultimate Playboy' starts on October 22 at 9pm on Sky One and is currently being filmed in the opulent surroundings of St Tropez and Monaco.

Princess Productions' recent £4.7m reality TV experiment for Five, 'Back to Reality', failed to achieve the 10% share chief executive Jane Lighting was expecting the programme to achieve.

The show averaged a 4.2% share in its main 8pm peak slots and 8.7% for the 11pm editions. Princesss was also behind Channel 4's breakfast flop 'RI:SE'.
