- BSkyB is strengthening its basic £13-a-month offer by dropping the classic film channel Sky Cinema from its premium package in another move to attract customers to its digital service.

Sky Cinema currently comes as a bonus channel for subscribers who take its Sky Premier and Sky Moviemax premium film channels.

Subscribers will now get it free with the £13 a month family package instead of having to buy the premium movie channels, which cost £5 to £13 extra.

The move follows the revelation that the number of cable customers taking its premium movie channels is continuing to fall as the cable companies introduce their own pay-per-view movie services.
