There are shades of Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas in a new TV spot from Diageo’s Smirnoff. The work, created by Mother, is designed to promote the vodka brand’s signature Apple Bite cocktail. It follows a couple as they walk through a hotel filled with strange guests and into a bar. As the music picks up, snakes appear from the bartender’s sleeves to help make an Apple Bite and the customers get up to dance in freakish unison. The ad is part of a wider £4.5 million campaign, which includes another TV spot in October to promote Smirnoff Gold. It was directed by Johnny Hardstaff through RSA.
