Snowball steps up to AMV deputy MD post

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has appointed Cilla Snowball deputy managing director.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has appointed Cilla Snowball deputy

managing director.

Her place as head of client services goes to Farah Ramzan, the account

director on BT.

The moves are in response to a wider role that has been taken within the

AMV group by Michael Baulk, the agency’s chief executive, and the extra

workload on Andrew Robertson, the managing director.

’Cilla will be me when I’m not around but we don’t know at this stage

exactly what her responsibilities will be,’ Robertson said. ’Our

management has always evolved gently.’

Snowball and Robertson first worked together 15 years ago at Ogilvy &

Mather, when he was a media planner and she an account manager.

Snowball was the first new-business director to be appointed by AMV,

which she joined in 1992. She led the agency’s successful pitches for

the Pizza Hut and W. H. Smith accounts and has played a major part in

the development of its Central Office of Information business.

Ramzan joined AMV from the then Burkitt Weinreich Bryant in 1990. She

ran the Sainsbury’s business for two years and recently succeeded Jeremy

Miles, the AMV vice-chairman, as board director responsible for BT.
