- England may be one game away from taking the plane home but Associated New Media's Soccernet site is claiming a major World Cup success.
Soccernet says it has achieved six figure revenues and signed up 23 advertisers for its World Cup coverage.
Major sponsorship deal with the likes of Hewlett Packard and Intel and average of 2.4 million page impressions a day are making it one of the hottest destination sites during France 98, Associated claims.
In the first seven days of the tournament, Soccernet reported 19.3 million page impressions, its most successful week ever.
The site is offering a number of extras which it claims is keeping visitors on the site for longer. Among these are Soccer Live, which enables fans to see live action of every game at the click of a mouse, as well as 3D SoccerWorld, which allows fans to interact with other fans from around the world in a 3D stadium.
