The company is in early discussions with agencies, and plans to shortlist several shops to pitch for the business later this year. ESPA's in-house marketing team is handling the process.
The successful agency will be briefed to produce direct mail campaigns for ESPA in order to raise awareness of its range of spa-inspired products, treatments and services.
It is also thought that the brief will include below- the-line business-to-business communications to promote ESPA's spa design consultancy and spa management solutions in line with its global expansion plans.
The company currently provides more than 550 spas across the world with interior design, staff, products, treatments and training.
This is the first time the company, which was founded 11 years ago, has sought an agency since the appointment of its first marketing director, Sarah Baldock, who joined ESPA from Tesco in December 2005.
