- Britain's first national 'sportspaper', Sport First, is being launched in England and Wales this Sunday (March 15).
The broadsheet will be the country's only dedicated sports newspaper and promises in-depth coverage of all sports from football to curling.
Targeted primarily at 18-44 year old ABC1 males, Sports First will have a 250,000 print run, with target sales of 100,000 and a cover price of 50p. The paper will carry a very high editorial to advertising ratio with only 25 per cent of its pages available to advertisers.
The launch concept of Sport First is based around readers buying it as a second read in addition to their regular Sunday paper.
Sport First is being launched by Parliamentary Communications, the company that is behind House Magazine that serves the houses of parliament.
