SS&B start-up picks up brief from BMW

The start-up planning agency Staufenberger, Smith & Butte has secured BMW as its first client. SS&B, launched by Yusuf Chuku and Patrick Syms in October 2005, will work on an unspecified model across international markets.

Chuku and Syms launched SS&B last October. Both previously worked at Element Communications, the joint venture between WCRS and Naked, which had BMW and 118 118 as clients.

Before launching Element, Chuku was the head of insight at Naked and Syms was the director of brand insight at ZenithOptimedia.

SS&B will work with BMW on developing new forms of communication for one of its cars. It is keen to look beyond traditional advertising.

SS&B's appointment does not affect the relationships between BMW and its other UK agencies.
