Staples founder launches UK site

Paul Korian, co-founder of US office supplies retailer Staples, is launching a UK small-business site.

The site, euroffice (www.euroffice.co.uk), will supply services and products to small businesses in the UK. It will become an integrated Application Service Provider, helping white-collar businesses of up to 50 people solve their procurement, administration and productivity problems, according to Anthony Karibian, euroffice's co-founder.

Set to launch next month, euroffice will initially offer some 6,000 products - from pens to printer cartridges - and Karibian claims that prices will be up to 80 per cent lower than when bought through existing outlets.

Services such as insurance, accounting, payment facilities and payroll will be added in the second phase of the site's launch. Karibian said that the site should be fully operational, with the addition of such features as training facilities and forms for accounting and legal work, by Spring next year.
