Starcom awarded Green & Black's media account

LONDON - Green & Black's has appointed Starcom to its media planning and buying business as the upmarket chocolate brand grows in scale and internationally under parent Cadbury.

Mark Palmer, Green & Black's marketing director, said: "As the Green & Black's brand continues to grow and we look to expand internationally, the appointment of Starcom will provide access to a media network across key markets."

The brand spent £1.8m on media in the year to June 2006, according to Nielsen Media Research, with investment due to grow in line with the brand's growth.
 
Green & Black's is the UK's fastest-growing confectionery brand (Nielsen MAT Data over 52 weeks to July 15 2006 -- value +54%, volume +46%).

Starcom will begin immediately on a brief for 2007, taking over from Matters Media, which was previously responsible for UK media buying.

Green & Black's retained agencies include: Phipps PR, for public relations; Brave for advertising; and Pearlfisher for design and packaging. These remain unaffected.
