Vic Synott has quit as managing director of online sales house

TSMSi to join internet portal site The Biz as one of its three

shareholders.

He becomes managing director of the internet operation, working

alongside fellow shareholders Iain McLeod and Leslie Hurst. His brief is

to mastermind the site’s global expansion. It is thought that the

company will eventually float.

Synott worked for The Biz at TSMSi and the agency will continue to

handle the site’s ad sales for the time being. However, Synott is

looking for a sales director and sales manager, with further sales

appointments likely to follow. ’This is going to be a big organisation,’

he commented.

He has not yet been replaced at TSMSi, where he worked for nearly three

years. The agency will recruit another managing director but sales

manager Peter Wilson now heads the 11-strong team.

Synott said he had originally planned to leave TSMSi to set up an

internet consultancy.

The Biz was set up in 1994 by hi-tech security company Easy-Eye and has

since developed into a business-to-business information resource. It

includes listings of major UK companies and details of e-commerce

services, as well as an events section.
