TalkSPORT's former sales boss Bleakley joins Emap offshoot

Emap Advertising has appointed Tim Bleakley, the former managing

director of talkSPORT's sales house, Impact, as its new head of

broadcast sales.

Bleakley fills the gap left by the promotion of Dave King to managing

director of Emap Advertising.

Bleakley unexpectedly quit his position at talkSPORT a month ago,

shortly after King's appointment to the managing director role. He had

founded talkSPORT's sales operation.

"Emap is at the forefront of changing how media brands are bought and

sold. The broadcast brands have both historic strengths and future

I am going to relish selling and positioning the benefits of both,"

Bleakley said.

Bleakley takes control of sales for Emap's three radio networks; Big

City, Kiss and Magic as well as a television portfolio that includes The

Box, Smash Hits and TV spin-offs of Kerrang!, Q, Kiss and Magic. Unlike

King, he will not take control of online sales. Bleakley will work

alongside Emap's head of magazines, Theresa Coligan, and report directly

to King.
