talkSPORT's latest ad innovation lets users shake their phone to activate

Radio station talkSPORT has teamed up with audio tech company AdsWizz so brands can introduce easy activation tie-ups with their audio ads.

When listening to talkSPORT via its app on their mobiles, users only need to give their phone a shake to download an app, load a site or make a call. If their phones are locked the activation is saved until they have time to unlock their phones.

"[AdsWizz'] innovative ShakeMe product is the next generation in audio advertising and means that talkSPORT can help advertisers to reach their key audiences in more engaging and immersive ways, including using behavioural data like mood or geo-targeting," David Wilcox, national sales director for Wireless Group, said.

The first brand to try out the new tech is Smarkets, a UK-based peer-to-peer betting exchange (listen to the ad, below) and a shake of the phone will download its app.

"As we see audio advertising adoption explode in major markets all over the world, we are committed to accelerating our innovation with new and engaging audio experiences," Alexis van de Wyer, chief executive of AdsWizz, added.
