Tandy appoints marketing team as its gears up for online shopping project

Tandy has made two marketing appointments as it prepares to launch its online shopping service.

Karen Lamerick has been appointed as marketing manager to take responsibility for the company's PR programme including the launch and development of its online shopping service and internet site which is proposed for the beginning of 1999.

She joins from Tandy's retained public relations consultancy, McCann-Weber, where she has worked on the Tandy account as account manager for two years.

Limerick will work alongside work alongside Harminder Sidhu, who has been appointed as marketing controller to take responsibility for the market development of the Tandy brand, with particular emphasis on improving the Tandy customer's in-store experience.

Sidhu previously spent over seven years at mail order catalogue company, Great Universal Stores, working in sales promotion, relationship marketing and implementation of customer loyalty.
