TBWA lands Carbon Trust ad business

The Carbon Trust, the not-for-profit company that works with businesses to help them reduce their carbon emissions, has appointed TBWA\London group to lead its advertising and media planning.

TBWA and its sister agency Tequila\London will handle the bulk of the Carbon Trust’s marketing across six categories: brand strategy and planning, advertising, digital and online, direct marketing, communications planning and print services.

The other agencies that pitched against TBWA for lead agency status will gain a place on the Carbon Trust’s roster. These include McCann Erickson, JWT and a partnership between Beta and WDMP.

WCRS, which previously held lead agency status on the account, declined to repitch for the business when the Carbon Trust called a statutory review in February.

Universal McCann will continue to handle media buying on the account.

A Carbon Trust spokesman said: "No contract has been awarded yet."
