TBWA\London wins cereal bars ad role

Mars has appointed its existing roster agency TBWA\London to handle advertising for its Tracker and Fruitasia brands after a three-way pitch against undisclosed agencies.

Tracker has been without an agency since 2004, when Grey London was forced to resign the business, along with its other Masterfoods brands, after its acquisition by WPP. Fruitasia was previously handled by the now defunct United London. It is understood that Mars approached both roster and off-roster agencies to pitch for the business.

The appointment consolidates TBWA\London's spot on the Mars roster. It handles advertising for Skittles, Starburst, Galaxy and Twix, as well as the pet food brands Whiskas and Pedigree.

Separately, TBWA\London has hired Trudy Waldron as its new head of TV. She replaces Tracie Stokes, who left last month along with the vice-chairman, Dick Butler.

Waldron will report to Steve Henry, the recently appointed executive creative director. She joins from Fallon, where she worked as a freelance TV producer on the Orange "Life as you like it" campaign.
