TBWA GGT Simons Palmer has poached the award-winning BMP DDB
creatives, Frazer Jelleyman and Alasdair Graham, to be creative group
heads in charge of the Virgin One, Dr Martens and Apple Computer
The copywriter, Graham, and the art director, Jelleyman, began their
careers at BMP, where they have remained for more than eight years.
While there, they worked on some of the agency’s highest-profile
business, including the Volkswagen Polo ’price’ campaign.
They were also behind last year’s risque Nicorette ad, which showed the
discomfort experienced by a ship’s crew that crave cigarettes while in a
no-smoking environment. One sailor catches sight of a provocative pin-up
and draws the curtain on his bunk. The ad ended with the line: ’For when
you get the urge.’
Trevor Beattie, executive creative director of TBWA, said: ’I’ve made no
secret that I’m a big fan of Frazer and Al. They’ve had the best
training possible at BMP and always produce talked-about work. I intend
to let them loose on everything.’
The hiring completes the new line-up of Beattie’s creative department,
which has recently been divided into six brand guardian groups, with a
senior creative team in charge of each. The pair are Beattie’s second
major hiring in two weeks, after he secured Brian Campbell and Ben
Priest from Lowe Howard-Spink.
Jelleyman said: ’We’ve had a great time at BMP but Trevor offered us a
great job as group heads.’
