TBWA GGT Simons Palmer this week unveils the follow-up to its
award-winning poster work for the Sony PlayStation.
The successor to ’nipples’, which won the press and poster Grand Prix at
this year’s Cannes International Advertising Awards, is called ’mental
wealth’ and echoes the theme of the new PlayStation TV advertising which
broke last week.
Based on some of the lines spoken by Fi-Fi, the pixie-faced star of the
TV spot, the poster campaign attempts to drive home the brand’s
The five ads, which will run on 48- and 96-sheets in the UK, Europe and
Australasia over the next two months, feature the lines, ’quote
yourself’, ’be a sponge’, ’DIY’, ’mental wealth’ and ’land on your own
moon’, set against a background of unusual images, such as footprints
and a deformed head.
The posters form part of a pounds 4 million marketing drive to ensure
that the PlayStation remains on the cutting edge of culture with the
introduction of Fi-Fi and her own bizarre lexicon, which she uses to
explain the PlayStation phenomenon.
