Teacher Training Agency hands account to Draft

LONDON – Draft London has been awarded the direct marketing brief for the Teacher Training Agency following a competitive pitch.

Draft triumphed against five undisclosed agencies following a statutory review, which kicked off in March.

The agency has been tasked with providing direct marketing materials to support the TTA's above-the line work, which is handled by DDB London.

The direct campaign will target people who hold degrees in subjects for which there is a shortage of teachers, including maths, science, modern languages and music. It will also aim to recruit from minority groups.

The first round of activity, which breaks in October, will include both online and traditional direct mail.

Tullo Marshall Warren previously held the account.

Mary Doherty, the director of teacher supply and recruitment at the TTA, said: "Following up enquiries has helped to increase the number of trainee teachers by 50% over five years. The appointment if Draft London completes the team for our 'Use your head. Teach' campaign, which emphasises the enjoyment of working with the most exciting people in the world-children."

Last month, the TTA introduced a new idea in its TV advertising, which focuses on the enjoyment teachers get from working with children.
