The Daily Telegraph’s commercial development team has signed up
United Airlines and Cisco Systems for sponsored supplements and is
looking to expand by recruiting two new ’lateral thinking’ strategic
planners.
United Airlines sponsored a 24-page ski supplement - with ads for
Drambuie, Nivea for Men and Hugo Boss watches - in the 23 October issue
of the Telegraph.
SnowWorld celebrates the launch of American ski guru Warren Miller’s
50th ski video. The Telegraph is sponsoring the film’s tour of 50 UK
cinemas, where the magazine will also be distributed.
’The magazine’s emphasis on American ski resorts made United Airlines
the obvious choice,’ said head of commercial development, Helen
Slater.
’It also supports our efforts to appeal to a younger audience.’
Cisco Systems is to sponsor a series of three supplements with the theme
’business benefits from technology’, in a deal worth almost half a
million pounds.
The first 16-page supplement will appear in the 9 November issue of the
Telegraph and also on the Electronic Telegraph. Cisco is targeting
small- to medium-sized businesses and the supplements will be mailed out
to a database of senior business people.
The commercial development team was redefined earlier this year to
provide clients and agencies with marketing solutions across print and
new media.
