Chief executive of Telewest Adam Singer confirmed last week that the

company is on course to achieve its target of increasing its database to

500,000 customers by the end of the year.

Singer said: ’While others have been talking about the promise of a

digital era, we have been delivering the next generation of broadband

services to our customers. The roll-out of our service is on schedule

and is expected to reach the majority of our homes by July.’

Singer added that Telewest plans to launch a broadband portal by the end

of July.

The company has also signed up CNN, Turner Broadcasting, Interflora and

Norwich Union as content providers on its Active Digital platform. This

brings its total number of content partners to 80.
