Mansfield, a director of NatMags and its parent company The Hearst Corporation, is to step down at the end of the year after 34 years with the group.
He will continue in a consultancy role for Hearst, looking at development opportunities and talent spotting across the UK and Europe.
Duncan Edwards, managing director at NatMags, said: "Terry is a legend in magazine publishing in the UK and, as managing director of NatMags between 1982 and 2001, created one of the most admired stables of magazines and respected companies in the business."
Mansfied said: "I am pleased to be continuing my association with The Hearst Corporation and my friends at NatMags, now that my formal role as an executive is coming to an end."
