Current multichannel director Robin Terrell will now become head of customer, taking the reins from previous marketing boss Jill Easterbrook.

This is the second marketing reshuffle in six months, since Tesco only handed the role to Easterbrook in June.

She will now head up business transformation at Tesco, having held a number of strategic roles at the retailer during the past 13 years.

Terrell previously held multichannel roles at House of Fraser and was formerly the chief operating officer of Figleaves.com and managing director of Amazon UK. Up until now, he has been leading Tesco's UK business.

The shake-up led to the departure of former chief marketing officer Matt Atkinson, whose subsequent role of chief creative officer is being cut. Group business planning and strategy director David Hobbs will also depart.

The changes come into effect on 1 January. Tesco CEO Dave Lewis will run the UK business, following the suspension of UK managing director Chris Bush.

According to the Guardian, Bush is one of four executives who has departed the company, along with group commercial director Kevin Grace, finance director Carl Rogberg and UK food commercial director John Scouler.

Tesco is currently under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office after an accounting mishap saw the retailer over-state profits by up to £264m.
